Good News.

I have received an e-mail back from West Beach Resort that a position has opened up for this summer! She did not say what position as she would like to know my official availability but any position is fine with me! To live on the Orcas Islands just seconds from the beach overlooking the Salish Sea and seeing the Saturna Island in Canada at sunset would be priceless.

This week I am waiting for her e-mail back letting me know if my availability fits her needs. We shall wait and see! 01 02 18

So Many Opportunities.

I feel so privileged to be able to say that my opportunities are limitless. Honestly, anything that I put my mind to, I can achieve. How many people can say that? I am one of them.

With graduation only 7 weeks away, I question what I will be doing this summer. And what life after graduation will be like. My mind is peaceful knowing that I have my whole life to travel however. And to explore, dream, and discover.

Step not twice in the same path. 01 02 18

Still waiting.

This past weekend I was in Chicago with three amazing friends for Spring Break.
It was so refreshing and was a good chance to catch up on conversation and my own life. I miss traveling so much, being on the move every 7 to 10 days when I was in Europe became the norm; now having a sedentary lifestyle is too heavy, I need to be light and on the move.

Well starting after Graduation this is my plan: To be light and on the move. A possible job offer came about from my most recent trip. This time for a camp counselor position at a YMCA Camp outside Milwaukee working with kids and horses. I hope to get a call tomorrow with more information. Something new to try, but I know I would enjoy it.

As well, a Phi Mu Consultant application has been re-sent out and I will apply for that too more than likely.

To Do List:
-Talk to Alex from YMCA
-Apply to Phi Mu before April 3rd
-Apply to Como Zoo for Camp Instructor before April 3rd

Done:
-Sent two thank you cards today to West Beach Resort in Washington and Montecito Sequoia Lodge in California for the possible job opportunities. This made me happy for both my professionalism and determination.

Still waiting, but I feel strongly about at least not being job-less upon graduation. Now that's a great feeling, almost as great as the one I have now after finishing my yoga workout.

Explore. Dream. Discover. Thank you Mark Twain. 01 02 18

The Waiting Game.

I applied for the Special Events/Evening Program Coordinator position at the Montecito Sequoia Lodge yesterday. I feel quite confident as I updated my resume and have three outstanding references for this opportunity.

Now I wait.

I am also waiting for a response from West Beach Resort in Washington which has responded that they hire their staff in April.

In addition to not knowing about the Westward jobs, there are a couple of twists added to my travel plans:

-A connection I have with the Como Zoo has e-mailed me to apply for a Camp Como Instructor summer position - I am going to do this, as the deadline isn't til April 3rd. And with a possible offer I have the option to then accept or decline.

-Americorps has e-mailed me again about a project at the La Puente area in southern Colorado that begins August 1st - I am contemplating applying for this as well. There is also a project in Knoxville, Tennessee that begins in August also- both these opportunities are two I would accept.

If jobs out West don't happen in the right time frame, jobs in the cities will be applied to and plans will be post-poned a bit. Although disappointing, as long as I'm working I will be happy. And the realization that no commitments stand in my way of traveling in the future is encouraging.

For now I play the waiting game. 01 02 18

Chicago.

Leaving for Chicago in four days with three friends. Cannot wait for this spring break trip. Although only a hop, skip, and a jump away, the city will feel miles away, a much needed vacation from a small college town.

Looking forward to packing. 01 02 18

Dreaming.

I don't really like the name Bucket List as that seems so unattainable. More so I have a continuous To Do list. Here's a start to the list:

-Visit every continent
-Research and save turtles in South America somewhere
-Go to the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica
-Go to the Hummingbird sanctuary in Costa Rica
-Visit Baja California and go snorkeling
-Participate in the one month internship with the Riddle Elephant Sanctuary in Alabama
-See manatees in Florida
-Live for a unknown amount of time where my lawn is filled with bamboo and a lemon tree grows in my backyard
-Catch up on all aspects of my scrap booking
-Have a library full of books in all genres
-Travel to Lithuania to see my extended family
-Sea kayak with the whales off the coast of Washington
-Visit Anne of Green Gables setting in Nova Scotia
-Attend the Whale Festival in Alaska
-Go skydiving

The list could continue. But I think this is enough to think about for tonight.

Never stop exploring, dreaming, and discovering. 01 02 18

New Discovery.

Through job searching over the weekend I stumbled upon a lodge job at the Montecito Resort in California. The position is for an Event Planner/Program Coordinator Assistant for the summer season. This is my goal right now. I love this new discovery. And even if I don't get it, I know that I applied and tried my hardest.

Tonight's opening puzzle was Seattle, Washington.
